Missions

If you are around Council Road very long at all, you will see that we have a world focus.  Our pastor, Rick Thompson, is a board member of the International Mission Board, which is the largest missions sending organization in the world.

Our church has taken special interest in partnering with our SBC missionaries in places like Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Middle East, Turkey, Mexico and Africa.   Every few weeks you will notice that we are sending another team of short term missionaries somewhere in the world.  The result of this approach is that many of our church members are now serving overseas in full time missions.

We have adopted an Acts 1:8 strategy to love the world to Christ by starting in our own community and working out from there.  During the year we participate together in LP2C opportunities such as “Families Feeding Families.”  This leverages our many community groups to reach out into our local community with the love of Christ. We call it the “LP2C” (loving people to Christ) approach.  We have an ongoing commitment to missions within our community, at home (on campus) and globally.  Our church has recently built a multi-million dollar activities facility called the CUBE that is open free of charge to our community. At CRBC, we believe that every member is a missionary in some way, and that this is a part of what it means to be “on the journey”.
